41. The Who - Who's Next (1971)
At the time of its release, Who's Next was one-step ahead of its closest rivals - Led Zeppelin IV by Led Zeppelin and Sticky Fingers by The Rolling Stones in term of music, technology and concept. The materials on Who's Next was originally penned by Pete Townshend for the followup movie project of Tommy. Since no producer could handle the movie project, so finally Glyn Johns produced some of the materials for the album Who's Next. On the first track "Baba O'Riley", the magnificent cyclical synthesizer intro left their contemporary far behind. On last track "Won't Get Fooled Again", the synthesizer and the guitar sound as if they're tussling each other.
