43. Rod Stewart - Gasoline Alley (1970)
On his second solo album, Rod Stewart turned to American root music. His hoarse voice was wonderfully blended by Ron Wood's slide guitar; and the fiddle, barrel-house piano, mandolin and acoustic guitars played here added an old-timey feeling for the album. "Only a Hobo", "Lady Day" and "Jo's Lament" recreated the dusty-road aura of Woody Guthrie time.
