Being called the godfather of punk, The Stooges' debut album was actually blues rock. In spite of the rhythm, their songs "I Wanna be Your Dog" and "No Fun" were covered by many punk bands. Iggy Pop's crude vocal and Ron Asheton's heavy guitar distortion defined garage rock.
