12. Cracker - The Golden Age (1996)

Punk and blues was mixed here with loud guitars and good melodies. The hard-rocking "I Hate My Generation" and "Sweet Thistle Pie" are better than most of the grunge singles of the era. "Big Dipper" is an intellectual, modern blues song, and "The Golden Age" is a fine alternative country song. This album is one of the best that came out of the 90s.
