The Pogues were at their prime as players and Shane MacGowan was at his prime as songwriter. There is a wide scope of musical styles here, from the big-band nuance on "Gridlock" to traditional Irish rock "Young Ned of the Hill" to the lamented "London You're a lady". All songs are great and there's no filler at all.
