16. Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot (2002)

After the Mermaid Avenue collaboration with Billy Bragg, Wilco's inspiration continued and went on making another great modern folk rock album. However, their label, Repise, thought it sounded like nothing else on the market and decided not to release it. Wilco than moved to Nonesuch Record, an AOL Time Warner subsidiary, which was friendly to non-commerial sound. The album was then released and surprisingly became both a commerial and critical success. It is considered the best work of Wilco.
